Sync and Swim
Today was a very exciting day, beginning with some smoothie making with the Farm and Garden class using mint from our own lake-front garden! After that delicious pick-me-up I stopped by the water games class to see how things were floating. They were busy cheering on the canoeing and kayaking classes that were in the middle of a high stakes relay race to the point and back. Meanwhile, the sailors were just trying to get out of everyone’s way and enjoy the cool weather on the lake. I then made my way up to Castle to check in on Drama class which was hard at work on a scene for final shows. Backstage, I ran into the Woodworking class which was in the middle of preparing to make cutting boards.
In the afternoon I dropped by Jazz, where the campers were finishing up a dance for Father’s Day Chapel, and Tumbling, where the campers were practicing everything from somersaults to aerials. In Arts and Crafts I ran into the campers making collages and in Weaving the campers were hard at work creating the seats for their stools. Hearing a car or two roll down the camp road, I ran to greet the campers returning form a two-day hike, a river trip to the Upper French Broad, and the Grimshaws sliding rock. Tonight’s evening program was Lip Sync Battle, a favorite among campers as well as the staff who perform in it. From the actual lip syncing to the intermittent dance parties, everyone was surely worn out by the end and will certainly sleep well tonight.
Until tomorrow,
