High Adventure and Hilarity
Today I decided to follow some of my camper friends out into the wilderness again as they took the first river trip of the summer out to the Upper French Broad. The water was very cold, but the sun was shining and the campers were happy to sing their way down the river. At the same time, a caving trip went out to Worley’s Cave to do some spelunking. A very exciting day for all campers indeed! This afternoon, after a nice long nap by the waterfall, I visited musical theater, which was practicing their routine to “The Greatest Show” from The Greatest Showman. The campers were so excited to be onstage singing and dancing to the song. I then visited the docks, where sailing was enjoying another especially breezy day. To end the day, I stopped by the landsports field to visit Middie the bunny who was enjoying the sun in her pen, surrounded by adoring campers. The evening program tonight was Whose Line is it Anyway, and the counselors had all of the campers in stiches. I managed to peek through the Castle doors to catch some of the hilarious games and improvised skits, and laughed and laughed and laughed.
Still chuckling myself to sleep,
