HIGH ON A HILL…
I started out my morning walking around camp with the nature class. The llamas came to visit, and the girls got to show the llamas around camp and learn about their behaviors and care! I wanted to make sure the llamas knew to be on their best behavior for my remarkable camper friends.
During my morning rounds, after playing some tricks on the llamas, I went over to archery to see what they were up to. During lunch, I overheard some campers talking who had just returned from a climb at Snakes. The girls were saying that they climbed Snakes today in preparation for the three-day climbing trip leaving later this week. What a great day to be on the rock! It was warm and breezy, and the climbers were all smiles.
After lunch, which happened to be Sloppy Joes today, I decided to take out one of the new Stand-Up Paddleboards with my good friend, The Witch. With all the campers relaxing in their cabins for rest hour, the lake was ours! We visited the Lady of the Lake, of course, who informed us of a tubing trip that was out! Getting to float down a lazy river all afternoon? Sounds like my kind of activity!
While roaming around camp after putting up my paddleboard, I noticed that some of the girls can be a bit camera shy, much like I am. If your daughter has been missing from the photo album, e-mail my friend Jim at jim@merriewoode.com. I’m sure he would be happy to track down your daughter and snap a photo or two.
As I frolicked, I heard the girls chattering about the big Talent Show tonight! I got to see girls perform dances, sing, and show off their tumbling skills. The JCs even participated by reenacting “The Lonely Goatherd” Puppet Show from “The Sound of Music.” We had a harpist play and multiple pianists appear on stage. I watched all of the acts in amazement and cheered on the girls from the rafters in Castle.
So long, farewell,
Tajar
