We Llove Llamas
Surprise! The llamas were here today. With those furry and fun creatures, comes a whole wealth of knowledge about them, too. Today we learned about how llama eating habits can affect their digestive system, and the more aggressive of an eater a llama is, the higher chance it has of having a gas build up in its digestive track. If you think that learning that was the highlight of my day, you’re right.
But other than that, we had a pretty rad day. On the river, gals paddled ‘til their hearts content and soaked up every bit of sunshine on this beautiful day. You know what they say: bright red noses soon to peel! Ain’t that the truth?
We also sent out a full day hike and the two-day hike left today, as well! The hikers took in some scenic views on the Green River after hiking down to the rapids. I wanted to tag along, but camp was abuzz with excitement and I couldn’t get myself to leave!
The girls up in Hip Hop were movin’ and grovin’ to the beat of a Cardi B classic (clean version, of course) and they really had some killer moves down pat! They invited me to dance with them and I showed them how Tajars bust a move.
Down at the docks, girls practiced their landings, skulls, and other boating paddling things that confuse me, but I just watch in awe as they command their boats. Tajars can do many things, but canoe slalom isn’t one of them.
The finest knitting projects are coming along so nicely. Carol, our Knitting Queen, is such a good instructor. She can teach anyone how to knit, even animals like myself with claws! Speaking of claws, sometimes it’s hard to shape my ceramics projects with these burly paws of mine, but the girls in Ceramics never fall short of helping me find my way. Their beautiful projects always leave me amazed at what some of them can do with a slab of clay!
The ladies in Arts and Crafts painted some lovely renditions of Chapel! And, wow, did they come out nicely?
We had a little bit of horse play at the Barn this afternoon. Girls in riding learned different parts of trotting and how to properly adjust their body weight depending on the horse’s location! The Earthworks team gathered at the Waterfall Field to get some quality llama llove and the pictures speak volumes! They’re always so excited to snap and pose with them.
Tonight’s Evening program was Jeopardy! We buzzed in with some camp trivia questions, as well as questions about Senior Staff and pop culture.
