Rain Check!
Flexibility might as well be a Merrie-Woode virtue! Today, instead of our planned Sunday Activities, we hit the ground running with a backup plan. So, a little rain here and there does ruin some plans, but it’ll never dull a Merrie-Woode girls’ spirit.
I hopped around, careful to avoid the puddles, and captured smiling faces all across camp! From King Arthur’s Court, where gals tumbled, played ping pong, and other various sporty games, to the boat docks, where girls worked towards passing their stationary draws, the day was still great from start to finish.
But, to recap today, let’s start with the meals. They’re always a favorite. Not only did we have cinnamon rolls and quiche for breakfast (yum), and fried chicken and mashed potatoes for lunch (yum, again), but we had rice and baked beans at cookout for an extra special addition to our burgers and dogs! Tajar was happy to say the least.
After we ate and ran around all day today, we closed out our day, and started off the week, in my favorite way: Campfire. While sitting around the fire and singing camp classics, you could see the teary eyes beginning to form…camp’s wrapping up (sorry to say it) and the real world is calling. I don’t think anyone is ready!
We had some special guests today, both in Chapel and for our activities! The Balloon Fairy was here, which is always a treat, and she brought her soft and sweet bunny, Abby, with her! The girls made balloon crowns and hats and played with a bunny…I can’t think of a more perfect Sunday than that.
This week, we have more special guests, and really big cameras, walking around camp to capture its magic for the outside world to see. We’re in the process of creating our new Merrie-Woode promotional videos and the girls felt so special to be a part of it. Our spirits are smiles and our smiles are bright over here! We can’t wait to see the finished product!
I’ve been hoppin’ along all day…13,658 steps and counting…I’ll sleep well tonight!
