Lights Up!
Wow, lots of pictures today! The Camp Cup photos are in, as well as caving photos, and the full day climb pictures from Southside of Looking Glass! Some of these trip cameras have a mind of their own and they seem to escape for days at a time before I have a chance to snatch the SD card…but, alas, it’s here!
Tonight’s Evening Program was one of the most anticipated of the entire session. We get to see our directors’ work pay off in the form of an onstage performance. Directing a scene is one of the last tasks on the road to becoming a King’s Player, the highest drama recognition at camp. Tonight, Our Town, directed by Alice Hallock; The Diary of Anne Frank, directed by Caroline Sippey; Proof, directed by Lily Hallock; and, The Crucible, directed by Lane Westerlund made their debuts. We’re all so incredibly proud of how amazing their scenes turned out and the audience was showing it through their enthusiastic clapping and awe over the raw emotion and poise on stage.
As per usual, the rest of the day at camp was quite thrilling as well. Down in the rolling area, girls worked on getting from a hip up to a roll, and with the help of their friends and counselors, they looked like they were really close!
Things got artsy and craftsy in the Arts and Crafts hut. Watching girls wrap up summer-long projects is bittersweet, but it’s always a great feeling to send the campers home with such impressive and unique creations.
Drill Team is making advances in their performance, and the coordination amongst girls atop horses is nothing shy of outstanding. Once again, we cannot wait to see their final show!
Tomorrow is the Swim and Boat Meet and we are excited to watch our Would Bes paddle and put on their crew skits. Not to mention, we’re eagerly awaiting the themes of their paddles to be unveiled…Any guesses?
Tajar did a lot of desk work today! Between rifling through hundreds of trip camera and Camp Cup pictures to attending the Directors Showcase dress rehearsal, I didn’t have enough paws on deck to make it to every activity. But not to worry, there will be more pictures of activities soon!
Check out TODAY’S (and many other days’) PHOTOS HERE!
Break a leg,
