Adventure Time
Today’s pictures include the trip pictures you’ve all been waiting for! A cabin trip to Low Ropes, the Baby Two-Day, the Nature Center, and the Three-Day Hike cameras have all returned and finally been transferred to the computer…we’re so sorry for the wait, but really happy that all of our cameras are always out and about capturing the best images and moments outside of camp!
Today, we continued the fun with trips to Lake Glenville to sail and a Land Sports field trip to Red Bird Golf Links for some “Kick Golf”! Sometimes, the wind on Lake Fairfield just cannot compare to Lake Glenville. Captain Doug and some staff take the girls and a few sailboats down to where the strong winds make for a great day on the water! After being equipped with a special animal life vest, I jumped in and we caught wind and set sail!
For some fun inside of camp, the gals in Ceramics glazed their handmade bowls and mugs from the wheel! It’s always so interesting to see the before and after effects of the glazing. I had no idea that the colors could be so deceiving!
Down at the docks, we splashed and played in the cool water, which felt oh so nice against our skin (or fur) on this warm summer day! The swim docks were playing music and the energetic girls made the most out of their time in the sun!
To continue with our promotional video, the camera men and women used drones today to capture the aerial views of camp and all of its beauty. They even joined Denice and made their way into a few of the cabins to get some cabin life shots. Wow, are we excited to see the finished product!
Tajars, like many majestic animals, are drawn to the light! In Stagecraft, the girls and staff finagled with the stage lights and set the stage for the upcoming show. It’s quickly approaching, and we’re so excited!
Tonight’s Evening Program was Chamber Music. This special treat, as a result of Hugh Caldwell’s trust, is a sacred Merrie-Woode tradition! Hugh believed that classical music had an importance in camp life and he wanted the legacy to continue well after his time. He’d be happy to know that it’s many campers’ favorite Evening Program! We had the great pleasure of listening to two incredible resident Emory musicians who are also part of the world renowned Vega String Quartet.
That’s all for today! Before you go, check out TODAY’S PHOTOS HERE!
Classically,
