A Magical Movie Night

All cozied up with blankets, crazy creeks, and PJs, we settled in with some popcorn and KitKats and watched “Enchanted”! The girls loved every second of the animated-real-movie. It combines real world and imagination, kind of in a way that reminds me of the beauty of camp.

We ended the day with a movie and smiles, but we started the day strongly, too! To begin, we had biscuits at breakfast which automatically puts me in a carpe diem kind of mood…not to mention pizza for lunch. Okay, before I get ahead of myself, the morning was great. We sweated today under that great big sun, but wow, did it make the lake feel nice. I had to sneak in and cool off later this afternoon. With all of that fur, Tajars can overheat quickly, and that, that can be bad.

We jumped, flipped, and hopped off the diving board and slid down the slide to our heart’s content. In the rolling area and at the docks, girls worked on their hip ups, landings, stationary draws, and all sorts of other fun boating things. They’re getting closer and closer to reaching their summer goals, and I continue to watch in awe from a distance as some of these girls command their boats. It’s so impressive.

Speaking of pizza, I smelled some after lunch, which was quite odd. I followed the scent over to Lily Pad where I found Earthworks building a fire and cooking their own pizza and s’mores on it! Can you say yummy?

The glazing over in Ceramics is looking awesome! I am literally pacing around to see the fired projects come out of the kiln. I am such a fan of pottery, and knowing that the girls made it with their own hands and imagination makes my heart so very happy!

Arts and Crafts, as usual, was off doing some banging projects when I walked in! Between canvas paintings to hand drawn mugs, the creativity in that little hut is endless! I’m trying to convince some campers to donate their projects to my tree top perch. I’m in need of new decorating.

Ah, what a day! The play is going to be spectacular and each and every time I step into rehearsal I get more and more excited. The lights, mics, and stage blocking is looking great, and the enthusiasm on stage is at an all-time high. We’re going to break a leg soon, but hopefully not yet!

That’s all for today! Don’t forget to check out TODAY’S PHOTOS HERE!

Happily,

Tajar is something like a tiger, and something like a jaguar, and something like a badger; and if you should see him once, you would forget what he looked like, but if you should see him twice you would forget to forget what he looked like, and that could be quite fatal. The Tajar lives near Merrie-Woode...in Merrie-Woode and around Merrie-Woode and under Merrie-Woode and over Merrie-Woode. He's a mischievous little creature, filled with folly, who keeps his ear to the ground on all the goings on at camp!
