And Sold!

On this terrific Tuesday, camp was abuzz with activities left and right! Some avid hikers headed out with Mountaineering for a full day adventure on Maidenhair Falls, and another group did a half day slip and slide at Grimshaws!

Although we’ve only been here a few days, it feels like summer’s settled in. Five weekers sure know how to make this place feel like home in no time. That’s one of the things I love most about this session!

After an intense yet productive day of auditions and casting, the roles are set! We’re so excited for this session’s musical, “1776,” which, despite its male dominant cast, will bring a lot of girl power to the Castle stage! We can’t wait.

Several activities are picking up pace as we speak! After going over safety rules and all that jazz, Counselors have put the pedal to the metal! It’s such a joy to walk around and see the foundation of this session being laid.

When I hopped up to Costuming, I got to peek at the girls who are skilled enough to make some of the show’s main pieces. They said they’d throw in a little bowtie for Tajar for the night of the play. They’re so sweet, don’t you think?

Tonight’s Evening Program was Auction. This classic night rings in some of the best prizes in camp, such as Dinner at the Dunns, Muffins with Millie, Grilled Cheese with Gatehouse, and, my favorite, Washing the Camp Dogs! Ha! They love a good bath from some sweet campers! Counselors duked it out via Rock, Paper, Scissors to determine the winners if more than one cabin bid on a prize. The tension was as high as ever!

Tea with Tajar still isn’t a prize, but I’ve grown to think it’s because I have to stay incognito. But, I’ll keep my fingers crossed that it’ll be a prize next summer!

But, wow, what a day! My CatBit says I’ve logged 11,792 steps today! I’ll sure sleep well tonight.

About the Author
Tajar is something like a tiger, and something like a jaguar, and something like a badger; and if you should see him once, you would forget what he looked like, but if you should see him twice you would forget to forget what he looked like, and that could be quite fatal. The Tajar lives near Merrie-Woode...in Merrie-Woode and around Merrie-Woode and under Merrie-Woode and over Merrie-Woode. He's a mischievous little creature, filled with folly, who keeps his ear to the ground on all the goings on at camp!
