Here Comes the Sun
When I woke up this morning, the strangest thing happened—I saw light! Sunlight! There wasn’t a cloud in the sky today in a miraculous turn of events and, like me, the campers couldn’t be more excited. Today everyone was out enjoying the rays, arching on the archery field, playing Titanic in canoes and rigging sailboats, and even riding around the area for the first time all session! It truly was a sight to behold. In Farm and Garden, the campers were celebrating with a harvest of cucumbers and tomatoes form our own lakeside garden. Meanwhile, in Earthworks the campers were learning how to make campfires now that there was no rain to impede them.
In Ceramics, the potters were working on their wheel throwing and making beautiful bowls and ornaments. Up in King Arthur’s Court, which until today was filled with classes that couldn’t go outside, the Tumbling class had so much room to practice their handstands and handsprings. Tonight we were treated to a lovely bag supper, a meal of sandwiches, chips and cookies that could all fit in a bag! Then it was time for Movie Night, which could not come any sooner as the rain once again overtook us. The movie tonight was The Hannah Montana Movie, and soon all of Castle filled with singing as the campers and counselors both enjoyed the movie together. I for one am now in a popcorn coma and must retire and rest my weary feet from this long day filled with sunshine.
Hoping the sun will come out tomorrow,
Tajar
