This is the Greatest Talent Show!
This morning I visited the Woodworking class, which was in the midst of making beautiful birdhouses. In Tumbling, the campers were practicing for their Castle Revue performance tomorrow and in tennis the players were working on their forehands and backhands while playing tennis games. In Farm and Garden, the campers were learning about how to treat farm animals with kindness, which involved a visit to the chicken coop and a stroll with Middie the bunny. In Earthworks the campers were learning about how to read old-fashioned maps, and then used their skills on a treasure hunt around camp.
In the afternoon we had a very exciting visit from the Balloon Fairy, who taught the Arts and Crafts classes how to make intricate balloon animals. There were dogs and cats and giraffes flying all over Lily Pad as the canoers and kayakers paddled by on their way to the waterfall. Afterwards I visited the barn, but ran into some horses out on a trail ride even before I got there! I said hello, then sent them trotting on their way. Tonight’s Evening Program was Talent Night, the night when all of the campers can show off their tumbling, dancing, singing, and magic trick talents. The campers were so confident onstage, and the audience was supportive of every act, those put on for fun and for recognition. All in all, Castle stage was graced by a very talented crowd tonight. Now I’m off to do something I myself am very talented at: sleeping!
Nighty-night,
Tajar
