Director’s Showcase

2016_07_22This morning I was napping in Chapel, when some of the drama group woke me up as they started practicing for their Director’s Showcase. I was intrigued to see how the other scenes would play out, so I followed them back up to Castel and watched the dress rehearsal. Everyone is in for a real treat! Afterwards, I went down to the Landsports Field to see what the campers were up to and they were playing soccer with their hands tied to their sides. What folly! While I was swinging through the trees, I saw horseback riding walking down the camp road. Over in Archery, the campers were excited to see new targets on the field. These were lower to the ground, so the camp could practice their shooting skills. In my favorite building, Tajar, the Sewing classes have been hard at work to make the costumes for the play, The Little Mermaid.

Tonight’s Evening Program was Director’s Showcase. Three campers who are working towards King’s Player in the Drama Program this session each directed scenes from a play. Their casts of campers and counselors have been working hard all session to give us a phenomenal Evening Program. We saw scenes from Oedipus, Death of a Salesman, and Harvey. It was a beautiful night at the theatre!

Full of folly,

Tajar

About the Author
Tajar is something like a tiger, and something like a jaguar, and something like a badger; and if you should see him once, you would forget what he looked like, but if you should see him twice you would forget to forget what he looked like, and that could be quite fatal. The Tajar lives near Merrie-Woode...in Merrie-Woode and around Merrie-Woode and under Merrie-Woode and over Merrie-Woode. He's a mischievous little creature, filled with folly, who keeps his ear to the ground on all the goings on at camp!
