Meet Our New Intern: Cameron Ward!
Meet the new CMW intern, Cameron Ward! We are thrilled to have her join the team this year as we head into our off-season, preparing for the 2016 summer.
Cameron was an August Session camper in 2000 and 2001. She then returned to us as a counselor on the Riding Staff for the past two summers, 2014 and 2015. Cameron is from Wilson, NC and spent several years of her childhood growing up in Florida. After graduating from Western Carolina University in 2014 with degrees in Spanish and International Studies, she worked for a nonprofit animal welfare in Charleston, SC.
Cameron moved into Gem Box a few weeks ago and is excited to begin her new position here at Merrie-Woode. She has already been busy helping Joni process all the camp applications flooding in for 2016! She will be helping Lindsay in the camp archives as we work towards big history projects for CMW’s 100th anniversary. She is excited to hit the staff recruiting trail this winter and spring as she assists Betsy on the 2016 College Recruiting Tour! Cameron is particularly looking forward to learning more about Merrie-Woode as a nonprofit organization and how we work within the larger community of summer camps in North Carolina. She greatly enjoyed the recent NCYCA meeting where she was fascinated to hear of new issues and legislation affecting the summer camping industry.
To help you get to know Cameron a bit better, she has filled out this extremely useful and insightful questionnaire. Take a look! You’ll feel like you’re best friends in no time.
