To life, to life, l’chaim!
As soon as I heard we had a visitor, I scampered down to the Nature Nook this morning. Rose from the Balsam Mountain Trust was visiting with some animal friends! She had a screech owl, a type of hawk called Harris’s Hawk, a possum, a milk snake, and a tiny baby alligator! It was amazing to see the beautiful creatures and learn all about their natural habitats.
I was heading towards Old Bald when I saw some commotion outside the Arts and Crafts Hut. They were splatter painting on the front lawn! It looked like loads of fun. Then, I swung through the trees up to Maiden Hair Falls, where Mountaineering was leading their last half-day hike of the session. We saw two waterfalls and even got to cool off a bit at one of them! Beautiful!
This evening, the Pages, Yeomen and Squires had their Plaque Night down on the Waterfall Field, while the Knights enjoyed the closing performance of Fiddler on the Roof. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: the productions that the cast, crew, and staff pull off here at Merrie Woode are absolutely amazing! In just a few short weeks, they brought to life a whole new world for our enjoyment. I am always so proud to watch the growth of the campers as they discover absolutely new and wonderful things in the world of theater. How blessed we are to have such talented, devoted, and passionate young people giving it their all! It was truly an enchanting night at the theatre.
Mazeltov!
