THE PEPPIEST CAMP I EVER SAW…

It was yet another lovely morning as the mist settled over Lake Fairfield at dawn.   In typical mountain style, the air was crisp early on and warmed up quickly after a French toast breakfast.   Camp must have still been channeling talent from the show last night, because down at

HIGH ON A HILL…

I started out my morning walking around camp with the nature class. The llamas came to visit, and the girls got to show the llamas around camp and learn about their behaviors and care! I wanted to make sure the llamas knew to be on their best behavior for my remarkable camper

SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW

I’ve got a witty joke I overheard at breakfast from Table One by Jim: “What did 0 say to 8? … Hey, nice belt!” As I chuckled to myself walking back down by the lake, I saw a river trip being packed out. The Would-Bes were preparing to leave for the Charlotte Whitewater Center.

TODAY IS MY MOMENT, AND NOW IS MY STORY..

I sure needed the extra half hour of sleep this morning after the busy Fourth of July weekend!  I’m pretty sure I still have some pie cream in my tail from the pie toss event this past Friday… We lucked out enough to score another beautiful, clear day in the mountains. Everyone

Ah-shay, Ah-shay!

Today, I woke up to a beautiful day looking down at the lake from the top of Old Bald. The air was crisp and the water was still as the sun was rising before the campers awoke. It was the perfect morning and it only got better when we had scrambled eggs and bacon for breakfast.

YOU’RE A GRAND OLD FLAG…

Happy Fourth of July from camp!  Instead of the normal wakeup bell, I was greeted by “Party in the USA” played over the PA system!  As I made my way down to the front line, I saw the riding staff decked out in red, white, and blue parading the horses through camp to announce the

I SEE THE MOON, AND THE MOON SEES ME

Early this morning, I heard a rumbling down by the waterfall field.  The sun wasn’t even out, and I was quite frazzled as I saw the first caving trip to Worley’s Cave hit the road.  I looked at my alarm clock and saw that it was 5:45 in the morning! This is a popular

BLUE SKIES SMILIN’ AT ME; NOTHIN’ LIKE BLUE SKIES, YOU’LL SEE

It’s hard to believe that today is already Wednesday!  It feels like yesterday that the campers and counselors were dressed in white for Sunday.  It was another beautiful morning deep in the mountains; the sun shone brightly on Lake Fairfield.  As the girls were heading to clean

TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALLGAME

The sun shone brightly on camp before the bell rang this morning, and everyone was quick to jump out of bed to celebrate the beautiful day underneath Old Bald!  I scurried down to the docks to examine the canoe trailer packed out of the river trip; I heard they would be exploring
