LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION!
Wow, what a day! I just got back from evening program and tonight’s evening program was The Little Prince! The drama staff wowed all of camp with this amazing adaptation of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s novel. Of course I had to sneak into the back, but we were greeted by planets and stars hanging from the castle ceiling. It set the atmosphere for a phenomenal play that received a standing ovation at the end. Lindsay and the rest of the Drama Staff have an unbelievable talent for coaching these girls and it was very evident tonight.
Earlier in the day, I was swinging all over camp to see what was going on in the campers activities. Mountaineering lead a trip up to the high ropes course and the campers loved all of the elements and ended the course with a trip down the zipline! In the offseason. I have attempted to go down the zipline once or twice, but the Range Ranger seems to always catch me!
I was quite confused today when I made my way down to the boat docks and saw the girls sliding off of canoes into the lake…I thought you were supposed to stay in the canoes. From the top of the flag pole, I watched and realized that they were participating in canoe slides! It seemed like a fun way to cool off on a warm day. I definitely might have to try that under the moonlight one night!
As I make my way up to the tree tops, I reflect on the message of The Little Prince, which states, “The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched, they are felt with the heart.”
